BIO

Dr. Rajeshree Parekh is a physician and senior executive with over 15 years of clinical, managerial and consulting experience. She joined Towers Watson after leading the Health & Benefits practice at Aon Hewitt in the Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, she was responsible for setting up Marsh and Mercer’s health and benefits practice in India, which included broking and consulting services. She started her corporate career with United Healthcare, where she served as the chief operating officer and medical director of United Healthcare in India—a healthcare services organization and licensed TPA. She was a practicing consultant ophthalmologist for several years before leaving clinical medicine.

During her career, she has gained experience and expertise in areas of health & wellness consulting, benefits design consulting, product design, and strategic & operational experience in healthcare management that includes physician and hospital contracting and medical underwriting.

She has also served as guest faculty at the National Insurance Academy of India, honorary columnist for the IRDA (insurance regulator) journal, honorary secretary of the Indian Hospital Association and chief representative of the Academy of Insurance Medicine Asia.

She went to medical school at the University of Bombay, where she earned an M.B.B.S., a diploma in ophthalmic medicine &surgery, and a master’s in ophthalmic surgery. In addition to her medical education, she is also a licentiate of the Insurance Institute of India.
