BIO

Patrick Tabeling is a professor of physics at École supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles de la ville de Paris (ESPCI ParisTech).

A graduate from École supérieure d'électricité (1974), Patrick Tabeling started his career as a professor and researcher at the statistical physics laboratory of École normale supérieure (ENS Ulm). In 2001, he joined ESPCI ParisTech where he is the group leader of the Microfluidics, Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and Nanostructures laboratory.

He currently chairs the French microfluidic network and is a consultant scientist for several multinational companies. He is the futur director of the Pierre Gilles de Gennes Institute for Microfluidics (IPGG), an interdisciplinary research institution in Paris which will regroup more than 100 expert researchers.

Patrick Tabeling is editor of the fluid division of Physical Review Letters and guest editor of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. He has published more than 181 articles in prestigious peer reviewed journals and his work has been cited more than 3500 times.
