BIO

A graduate from Ecole Polytechnique (1975), Bernard Planchais started his career at Direction des chantiers navals (today DCNS, a naval defence company based in France and one of Europe's leading shipbuilders) in 1980.

In March 2007 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of DCNS. Mr. Planchais serves as Member of the Executive Board. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Board of DCNS Group.

Small modular reactors are seen as presenting a possible route to future nuclear power production, especially in developing countries. Some manufacturers even started to design subsea power stations. In terms of advantages, costs and risk management, it's a completely new equation.
